The Blue Lagoon is a major tourist attraction in Iceland. Close enough to Reykjavik, its warm waters and its surreal environment are to Iceland what the Eiffel Tower is to France. Partly natural, partly artificial, the geothermal lagoon is marketed as a health spa.
Frankly, I think the Icelandic nature is so unique, and there is so much to see elsewhere in the country, that I wonder why people waste their time bathing next to a smoking factory.
