To fellow bloggers: It's been only a few days since I started this weblog, and I've had a lot of fun both in putting up the technical part and in starting to write. I've now learned the basics, adapted my scripts and made an RSS feed available ; still on my to-do list: write and integrate a XML:RPC ping mechanism to Technorati and weblogs.com (other ones I should know?) and look at how trackbacks work. I didn't know what RDF meant at the beginning of the week, so I've learned a lot on the way, but the road is still long: tips and ideas to get this new weblog off the ground (without relying on existing blogging software), as well as comments on the contents, would be highly appreciated!

The way this started is very similar to how this picture was born, in September this year during a climbing expedition in Nepal:

When I woke up before daybreak to satisfy some basic natural needs, once out of the tent I realised that the conditions for a picture I had imagined (clear night, full moon low over the mountains) had come true. In the freezing night, I rushed back to the tent to get camera and tripod, and frenetically started to work.
